July 2, 200322 yr Everett had his good teams and his bad teams. All the fans seem to love Carl in Texas. He and Buck had a really close relationship apparently and it was really tough for him to even waive his no-trade clause and come. We will see which Carl shows up in Chicago. We are not heralding him as our savior, I think the pressure is off and he is coming into a hot lineup where he will be protected. Also he is coming the same day we pick up Robbie Alomar so he is not the only "new guy" that all the fans are gonna be watching closely. If everyone in the clubhouse gives him his space and treats him well I think Carl will fit in just fine.
July 2, 200322 yr Sure it's a concern. If he fights with Greg Walker it could hurt the progress we've made recently with guys like Rowand, but I'm stretching worrying about that. Another worrywart would say we've been winning of late and this could kill the momentum. But we still haven't been hitting even though we've been winning.
