September 10, 200718 yr I was laughing the whole half hour tonight. So funny lines. "It would be like my last name was 'Jew'."
September 10, 200718 yr Damn, I forgot the premiere was tonight. Thank heavens for OnDemand and incessant HBO rebroadcasts.
September 10, 200718 yr Author When you watch it tomorrow, just be like, "Oh, I thought the premiere was tonight!?" You'll understand after you watch the show.
September 11, 200718 yr Totally forgot it was on last night, going to watch it tonight. Very underrated TV show.
September 11, 200718 yr QUOTE(Brian @ Sep 9, 2007 -> 10:37 PM) When you watch it tomorrow, just be like, "Oh, I thought the premiere was tonight!?" You'll understand after you watch the show. Good premiere, but it killed my craving for chocolate cake.
September 12, 200718 yr A good premiere... but it's starting to become more of the same. We'll see though.
September 12, 200718 yr QUOTE(Steve9347 @ Sep 12, 2007 -> 02:29 PM) A good premiere... but it's starting to become more of the same. We'll see though. Much like Seinfeld at its best, or Arrested Development, the long-time running gags are a hallmark of Curb Your Enthusiasm. Plus, like Seinfeld, Enthusiasm is as monolithically high-concept as a show gets. For Seinfeld, the high concept was that it was "a show about nothing". For Enthusiasm, the high concept from which all story arcs and plot twists originate is, "this guy is simultaneously the biggest schlamiel and schlamazel (= hardluck a$$hole) that ever walked the planet." With a singularly crystalized set-up like that, the running gags and utter predictability of Larry's schlamiel/schlamazel ups and downs is a big part of what makes the show so fun. For me, anyway.

To an extent yes. That's a great argument. For me though, I do not enjoy Curb nearly as much as Arrested Development and for that matter Seinfeld. Those shows all wound many stories together and were much better written. Though Curb is funny, it does not begin to approach the many levels of comedy that programs like Arrested Development and Seinfeld did.

September 25, 200718 yr QUOTE(Brian @ Sep 25, 2007 -> 11:12 AM) I left a condolence message on your machine and you never called back. I was out buying my wife ice cream. I'll be looking for a little sumpin' sumpin' later from her, so I'm being extra nice all day.
