You may be right. It doesn't matter which crooked party the individual in charge came from. It might have been LBJ though. Who controlled congress back then?

IIRC it was during the early 70s when foreign banks were demanding payments on US debt. Nixon made a number of changes that caused problems. I'm certain Kap or SS could fill in the blanks if they are reading this thread.
