I made one post at that place and got the boot. I'm pretty sure it didn't include anything Charles Manson would say.

LOL...you may have caught them on a slow day. being banned after 1 post is insane. And I believe you, it probably wasn't crap ANYONE was upset about except one of their idiot moderators. And heck, the mod probably wasn't mad about it either, just had a banning fetish.

When you read some of the venom spewed by the moderators in some of the crap that they write (in particular the computer geek and the site's founder), one wonders whay they aren't banned as well.

I couldn't even sign up for WSI since I use a Yahoo email. I was on Southsiders.net for a while and enjoyed it. Good site. Some rediculous posters but they always bashed WSI too, so I didn't think it was ever a good place to go.

I got banned from getting personal with a mod. I felt bad but at the same time, the situation was hypocritical and rediculous. I killed my classroom hours by posting there so I signed back up and it went well, I just didn't think my opinion was worth anything there anymore though so I stopped.

Now I am here. I feel like this is an AA meeting or something in this thread. It's great.

anyone know of a forum where you can say anything you want and not get banned?

http://www.moveon.org :P

I found WSI before I found out about this place, and I posted there for awhile. I ended up getting banned three times, once because I called A-Rod Gay-Rod, just making a joke. I still go over there and read the parking lot, what's the score, and talking baseball, and I'll post once in awhile (my name isn't WhiteSoxfan1986 over there, that's somebody else). I never go into the Sox Clubhouse though.

I got so fed up with WSI last year that one day I typed in a thread " please permanently ban me so that I may never be tempted to post here again". They granted my wish.

This site is much better as far as freedom of speech. And, it really is true what some say over there. You're lucky if you can find anyone to agree that the Todd Ritchie trade wasn't exactly a good one.

Sox and the City is a pretty loose and fun group of guys too but there's more posters with greater baseball acumen on this site, imo.

"Totally Biased."

I was banned "for one week" by someone playing God and never went back. Still cant figure out why-but it was for the best-just way too many "chiefs" there with assumed authority.

I don't understand why they even allow new users if they only want their like-minded buddies to post there. Why not just password-protect the message board in that case? George created a really nice site and it's too bad that he let it go in that direction.

"Nice" is not a word I would ever describe that site. For a bunch of amateurs, it's OK. I just wish they were a little more tolerant and welcome.

While all of your thoughts and feelings are appreciated, (because we like Soxtalk as well!) we would prefer that the anti-"other board" comments are kept to a minimum.

Thanks!

Absolutely. It's much better when we attack one another!

f*** off, asshole! (Do you feel better now? :) )

Ummmm ... that was meant as a joke. I didn't think the word 'asshole' would come thru like it did.

Eat my s***, you old prick. (It does feel good.)

PS: I'm joking too.

There's just a lot of "misinformation" over there, too. Just clueless. The more I read on that message board the more their credibility sinks.

But this is what the Internet is ... it's posted, it's fact no matter what it is.

QUOTE(WhiteSoxfan1986 @ Oct 14, 2007 -> 01:10 AM)
They won't really let you criticize the team over there. If you do they call you a "dark cloud." According to the people at WSI Ozzie and Kenny can do no wrong.

That's what they did to me, and I was banned promptly after I told the mod he was a corrupt bastard. :headbang

I've always liked it here much better because you can say pretty much anything in terms of the team.

Lol at all the people banned on that site.

I posted at the white sox message boards then found this place. I would just read then finally like 6 months later registered. Since then I think i've only been back to the white sox message boards a few times.

I was actually a long time member over there at WSI and was never banned but was threatened with banishment. I just got sick and tired of the Gestapo and that absurd "dark cloud" crap and argued with George about how "dark clouds" are good fans too and actually less Cub fan-like. Tired of it all, I left on my own terms. Then, I found this place and wish I had found it even earlier. I don't mean to bash them (yes I do). There was a lot I liked about it but the free atmosphere here is refreshing.
