Is this an attack on Christmas

Featured Replies

Everyday I walk by the Harold Washington library and every time there is a Holiday they have a sign posted on the door that says: "The library will be closed January 19, 2008 in observance of Martin Luther King, Jr Day" "...in observance of Labor Day" "...in observance of Independence Day".

For Christmas this year the sign read: "The library will close at noon on December 24th and will be closed on December 25, 2007. We apologize for any inconvienence."

"We apologize..."?? They never apologized before and why are they closing early on the 24th and closed on the 25th?

Just an observation of mine on my lonely walk to work. Please return to your regularly scheduled program.

Maybe because it was two days, maybe because someone new is doing the sign. Maybe because of Separation of church and state. Maybe the person now doing the sign is part of a jihad, whose plan is to over take jesus by changing every sign in the world.

It's the biggest and second biggest Jewish reading day of the year.

no, but this is: f*** Christmas.

:D

The NSA guy they had trailing me mysteriously vanished about 3 months ago. I'm a bit worried for his safety.

Yes that is. Hopefully in the future the public will not be afraid to say Christmas.

So, the majority can't say anything when they may see something wrong? Yep, sounds like a democracy to me!

Mike Huckabee isn't.

Sure they can. The sign had to include notes about Christmas Eve so maybe there wasn't enough room on there. :huh

Notice how the library had to close early for TWO days because of one holiday. Maybe that's why they were apologizing. :huh

Even if it is, you know what they say about jokes that take a shot like that. There is always at least a little bit of belief behind it. I just wanted to point out that there are not any points of view that should be ignored.

My comment probably came out more as a shot than I meant for it to be.
