Bye Bye Jake Hello Progressive

Featured Replies

When the sox start the season in Cleveland they will no longer be playing at the Jake because Cleveland finally gave in and sold out (like the rest of MLB). Progressive Field is now the name with The Jake as a sub title- Sad.

yeah i hate this. i'm always gonna call it the jake. this made me think about US Cellular and it's funny how used to it we are now that it's no big deal - but really... it's all just sad.

You know, I actually like when a company buys a stadium name. I think it's cool to see what type of companies do it. Like Petco or Minute Maid. I think its pretty funny.

Still waiting for a condom company to buy a park and name it Magnum or Ribbed Dome/Park/Field.

As long as they stay away from Soldier Field

Ya I usually dont feel very sentimental on names of stadiums but thats one that better not ever change. That name has historical value other than sport nostalgia.
