Previous responses to her debates and focus groups have suggested that is actually one of her strengths...when she gives a lot of policy details it seems to help her.

Clinton's last line about the 30 years with a Bush or a Clinton on the ticket just won the debate for her.

I get the sense out there from the liveblogging I'm reading that a lot of people seem to feel Hillary struggled somewhat on the foreign policy/Iraq issue part. Blitzer attempted a big smackdown by asking if she was saying she was naive with her AUMF vote.

The race is so close that neither one of them wants to risk being the negative one.

Both playing the prevent defense.... I think that will benefit Barack Obama, consdiering he has the momentum going into Super Tuesday.

 

Hillary was supposedly licking her chops in anticipation of getting Obama in a debate 1-on-1.

 

Interesting night, I guess I should have expected this going into Super Tuesday, I guess Hillary didn't see any benefits from attacking his Illinois Senate record etc... without Edwards to play mediator between the two, it probably would have looked sinister and petty

Unless you see a blowout by one or the other Tuesday, you're looking at the complete Dem ticket for this november.

Watched the debate last night. Hillary is a slightly better debater, but, I'd call that particular debate a draw. Clinton started well, but as the debate went on, Obama's points got across more cleanly. Both were in top form though - that was fun to watch.

 

Rex, about that Clinton 30 years of Bush/Clinton response... my first thought was, great line. Then it sat for a minute, and I saw the audience, and I think it may not have had a great effect after the initial applause. The fact of it sinking in with people.

 

As I look at the candidates out there in both parties, I think to myself... ALL of these people are way better speakers and debaters than either Bush or Kerry from the '04 race.

That's not hard to do, they both are not good public speakers.

I noticed that - where are the questions on energy policy, the environment and climate change? For democratic voters, particularly in California, that is a HUGE topic. Very disappointing.
