March 18, 200818 yr According to CNN, he has died at the age of 90. No link yet. One of the best Sci Fi authors of all time, and one of my faves. He even helped inspire some modern space program initiatives. Rest in peace good man, and enjoy the heavens.

March 19, 200818 yr I feature a great Arthur Clarke quote on an exhibit panel in the oceanographic visitor center I manage: "How inappropriate to call this planet Earth when quite clearly it is Ocean." I've always liked that. Mr. Clarke, a gifted writer and visionary.
