The only trademark problems you'd run into renaming the post levels after Sox affiliates is if you named them like, "Birmingham Barons." Nicknames are trademarked and property of the team, but if you just named a level "Birmingham", there would be nothing wrong with that because a city name cannot be trademarked.

 

Kind of like when video games don't get endorsed by the MLB they change the names of teams like the Arizona Diamondbacks to "Phoenix."

 

Don't know if naming it "Birmigham, AA..." because that might be stepping toes on AA and the Barons... Who knows? I'm not some sort of law-talking-guy.
