Why June shapes up to be a good month

Featured Replies

We've had a hellacious schedule for the last two months. And we are one of only four teams in MLB that do not have a losing record on the road. (We're 17-17 after today.)

So... we've played 34 games on the road... and only 22 games at home... the LEAST home games played of any team in major league baseball... and yet we're 4 games over .500 and in 1st place.

Now, our schedule gets MUCH more favorable... both in terms of teams we play and where we play them.

17 out of our 27 games in June are at home, including:

- 3 against Kansas City (last place in the AL Central)

- 3 against Pittsburg (last place in the NL Central)

- 3 against Colorado (last place in the NL West)

If someone told me we'd be in this position at the beginning of the year, I'd be thrilled. If the pitching holds up... we are going to be sitting pretty going into the all-star break.

It SHOULD be a very good month, and you'd hope we can hit some of the pitching we'll see this month, which won't be near as good as what we've seen the last several weeks. But this offense looks so useless at times, so you still worry.

I am really looking forward to the next two home stands (KC/MIN and PIT/COL). We have a chance to put up a lot of wins between those four series, hopefully the Sox can find a way to get this offense going.

Sounds good to me.... im happy. Would of love a split, but were still in good shape. With our pitching we can win on any given day with or without a good offense. I still think were gonna wake up. Also on a positive note, A-Ram is incredibel

I don't know about you guys but what I'm looking foward to most this month is kicking the snot out of the cubs for six games. taking them out of first place would give me great satisfaction.

I'll gladly take a 3-3 series against them.

Agreed, but I wouldn't doubt it if they won 5 or 4 of the 6.

However, we should win 2/3 or 3/4 from every series this month, with an exception to the Scrubs.
