Google Analytics

Featured Replies

I recently decided to give Google Analytics a try on two of the three websites I manage. I must say, I was very impressed. It gave me a real idea of traffic flow and what pages need to be kept most up-to-date.

I am curious if anyone has experience with Google Analytics.

google has so much cool stuff it's hard to even keep track of.

Nothing fancy. Ones my personal website and the other is the church / school I work for.

Yeah, my company uses Google Analytics.

We formerly used WebTrends, but that costs $$$$$$$$$. Free is good.

My thoughts exactly. I'm not using it to sell advertising or anything like that. So it's good for basic traffic data. It probably could be used easily for selling adds, but I have no need for it.

It's free but it misses a lot of traffic, IMO.

I prefer sitemeter, but hey, to each his own.

Holy crap, look what the cat dragged in.

I've used Google Analytics extensively for the site I managed at my previous position, and now the site I currently manage. If you want to "control" your presence on Google as much as possible, it is absolutely a must.

No one outside of Google knows exactly how their algorithms work, but having Analytics gives you the best chance to raise your organic ranking and bring in more business.
