August 24, 200817 yr Author W-S shortstop Greg Paiml has an 11 game hitting streak going and is batting .419 over the last 10 games. Coincidentally he went on a big hot streak at the end of the year in Great Falls last year too.
August 24, 200817 yr Why was Crede out of the line-up this time? Ozzie said that he was going to hand him the starting job at 3B when he was ready to come back. Will that ever happen again with the Sox?
August 24, 200817 yr Danks has been showing some skill with the bat, hopefully his power can finally develop. I'm glad we got him in the system, he could be our starting CF in a couple of years
August 24, 200817 yr QUOTE (scenario @ Aug 23, 2008 -> 09:43 PM) Winston-Salem won 10-4 Shelby, Sanchez, Gaines, and Hernandez with 3-hits each. Ely wasn't particularly sharp, but got his 6th win in his last 7 starts. Shelby had 2 double. Sanchez hit a 3-run homerun. Warthogs have won 10 out of their last 11 games... And extended their wildcard lead to 3.5 games with 8 games left in the season. Kinston is behind them and the two start a four game series in W-S on Monday. If W-S can at least split the series, it should just about lock the wildcard up. That would leave 4 games left with a 3.5 game lead. 3 out of 4 would clinch it. Go Hogs! August 24, 200817 yr QUOTE (Jake @ Aug 23, 2008 -> 11:39 PM) Do you even need to say Eldred hit a bomb or can it just be assumed? 35 HR & 100 RBI. Too bad he missed a month, it could easily be 43-44 HR & 125 RBI at the pace he is on. Edited August 24, 200817 yr by JPN366
August 24, 200817 yr QUOTE (scenario @ Aug 23, 2008 -> 09:43 PM) Barons lost to Jacksonville 3-2 A rare blown save and loss for Jon Link Jon Link has 34 saves, which leads all of MiLB, and only 6 blown saves. Lights out All Star Barons Pitcher Of The Year. He's also going for the Southern League & Barons record for saves, the previous record is 36. He has 9 more games to get it. By the way, the Barons have turned the third most double plays in all of baseball in 2008. Edited August 24, 200817 yr by JPN366
August 24, 200817 yr QUOTE (JPN366 @ Aug 24, 2008 -> 07:06 AM) 35 HR & 100 RBI. Too bad he missed a month, it could easily be 43-44 HR & 125 RBI at the pace he is on. Someone's going to give him a chance next season.
August 24, 200817 yr QUOTE (JPN366 @ Aug 24, 2008 -> 08:09 AM) Jon Link has 34 saves, which leads all of MiLB, and only 6 blown saves. Lights out All Star Barons Pitcher Of The Year. Ummm...an 83-85% save percentage is not exactly lights out. It's kind of average to below average.
August 24, 200817 yr QUOTE (BlackBetsy @ Aug 24, 2008 -> 02:21 PM) Ummm...an 83-85% save percentage is not exactly lights out. It's kind of average to below average. Half of the 6 came in the last three weeks when they started bringing him in in the 8th. So, yeah, he has been lights out the majority of the year.
August 24, 200817 yr QUOTE (Whitewashed in '05 @ Aug 24, 2008 -> 09:15 AM) Someone's going to give him a chance next season. He does have 25 walks and 125 K's on the season though. That's not a very good ratio and it only figures to get worse in the bigs. He's probably just a AAAA player, hasn't done much with his previous big league stints but I'd still like to see him with Charlotte next season as well
