Parental Units - Birthday Party stuff

Featured Replies

Thinking of having Bri's 1st party at the Dupage Childrens Museum in Naperville. Anyone been to a party there? I've been there with kids, but not for a party and I'm wondering how they handle things. There's only going to be 3 little ones Bri's age and the rest are over 2 so that's why I'm having it somewhere for "older" kids. Anyone have any other suggestions for over 2 and under 5? I really haven't found too many things - and I'm not fond of the Chuck E Cheese thing.

Im racking my brain steff, but you are really limited when you have kids that are toddlers or smaller.

My daughter went to the Childrens museum with my wife, and they liked it, but I wasnt with them so I cant tell you the positives and negatives.

Maybe you should just tape plastic drop cloth to all of the walls and carpets and let er rip in your place until Bri can really appreciate the moment

I'm not worried about a mess, it's the older kids I'm concerned about being entertained. If it was sooner than the end of Nov I would just have it in the backyard and get those blow up jumpy things, but I can't count on the weather to cooperate. Such pressure... can't wait till it's bra buying time.. :lolhitting

Good luck Steff. It wasn't that long ago that a cake and family at the house was enough for a one year old.

It would be just fine if the immediate family was less than 36 people and the weather forecast didn't include a chance of snow.

That was fine for me until I was about 11. Then I started going to sox games every year.

It sounded smaller from your first post.

Do not forget that this just sets the baseline, you'll need to top this every year until they are too cool to hang with parents, then just give them $500 and tell them to plan their own party. :lolhitting

Do they have those gymnasium places here? Basically, it's those blowup things, but everywhere. Obviously, your 1 year old won't appreciate, but all the other kids will.

We do have a GymQuest by us, but the format allows for several parties to be using the facility at once, without age restrictions, and I'd don't want to be responsible if someone gets hurt. I ended up going to the Museum today and booking it there. They take care of everything from the food to the gift bags and the party includes all day play time for all the kids - which the older ones with appreciate I think.

Ah...I thought you could cordon off an area that was just for you. Have fun!

:o

I thought it was bad when we had 13 people at our kids parties just from immediate family.
