NorthSideSox72
So, I have to spend the day, a week from today, down at Purdue doing some recruiting. Anyone have advice on where to get lunch? Or any tips on getting in and out of town?
Kid Gleason
QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Oct 29, 2008 -> 04:29 PM) So, I have to spend the day, a week from today, down at Purdue doing some recruiting. Anyone have advice on where to get lunch? Or any tips on getting in and out of town? There is a GREAT BBQ joint down there, but I can't remember the name. Some of the best sauce I have ever had. Balta1701
You poor, poor SOB. I'm sorry for you. Does the big, bright McDonalds there still do the 50 piece McNugget on nights after Purdue football games? Getting in and out of town is only a problem if it's snowing usually. Don't you miss the whole town in like two exits on I-65?
nitetrain8601
Boring place if you ask me. They have the same typical places Chicago has. Potbelly's, Jimmy John's, Subway. They do have that BBQ place, but I don't know many of my friends who go there who like it.
3E8
If you like beer, check out Chumley's. 50 beers on tap and 100 bottles. Food is so-so but the place is worth it just for beers alone because you won't find many of them elsewhere
LosMediasBlancas
My best friend went to school there. It's actually west lafayette iirc. Is T.A. Toms still around? Ah yes, cheap beer and hot college chicks.

Just looking for a lunch joint really.

mreye
NS, becareful driving around town - worst configuration of roads I've ever experienced (And I used to drive for a living). I used to always tease my wife (A Purdue alum) that they were laid out by Purdue Engineers. I can't help you with lunch, I always went to the "normal" places like Applebees, Don Pablos and the like.
