Chicago and Obama thread

Featured Replies

So, Grant Park is already a zoo, with all sorts of equipment going up. There will probably be hundreds of thousands of people there. This is a huge historic event for Chicago - a potential President from the area, an election victory rally.

Discuss here the event itself (rally, etc.), as well as the effect an Obama Presidency would have on the city.

For me, I'll be doing some guerilla marketing for my company in Millenium Park from 3 to 6, trying to take advantage of the crowds. Then I'll head home to see the results come in.

With all the media attention on Chicago, this event (and an Obama Presidency) could have ramifications for the 2016 Olympics bid. That's something to consider. If Obama wins and the event goes well, that's 2 big boosts. If Obama loses, and/or there are major problems at the rally, that could bode poorly.

I'm gonna be going down to the rally even though as of right now I don't have a ticket. I know its going to be real crowded, but I think it's going to be exciting. I think we will be looking at 500,000 plus tonight.

It's either going to be a HUGE party or the World's Largest Concession Speech.

Just printed my ticket. Leaving work early to grab some dinner and then heading straight to the rally. Definitely bringing a camera and will have my hipster Obama shirt I just bought at some spot in Wicker Park.

Hope it's fun for everyone. You guys should have good weather, yesterday was simply brilliant down here in Missouri.

Ill be heading there whenever I leave work (not sure when that is). Some of my friends are waiting in line starting at 3 so who knows whats going to be happening.

I have a ticket to the event so well see what happens.

PSH. The White Sox drew almost 2 million for the parade in 2005.
