November 18, 200817 yr 48 pairs of socks and a new pair of shoes I can wash my socks all I want to right now, but they still come out of the drier crusty with godknowswhat secretions out of my feet and these cheap $10 shoes I currently have. I'm going to give my old ones to my brother/give them to the Salvation Army/throw them away. there's other stuff too, but that's something a lot of people probably don't have on their lists.

Casual, business casual, or dress? When I first had to wear suits everyday, I hated spending what seemed like way too much money on dress socks and bought cheap. Give me the three pairs for $5. And even then, I was looking for a sale. Then I received as gifts some super nice socks. Damn, my feet were happy, I could dance, and had b-ball moves like Jordan. OK, I couldn't dance and the moves were more like Jordan Danks. Now, especially when hiking and backpacking I have top of the line socks that I consider equipment. Money well spent.

I don't need anything for Christmas. Except an ashtray. And a paddle game. And a lamp. That's all I need. Edited November 19, 200817 yr by PlaySumFnJurny

Money well spent. for most of the socks I'll want just regular white socks...being in college still and having no responsibility to look nice going to class every day is nice. I do enjoy a very nice pair of socks though, especially dress, and while I obviously won't wear them with my regular shoes, they go well with my dress shoes. They feel nice.

November 18, 200817 yr QUOTE (shipps @ Nov 18, 2008 -> 10:13 AM) Yep and I really dont understand why, they sound sooo good. They sound good in the right place, but they are less versatile than a lot of people think. You can do bends on them because on of the paired strings will be bent relatively less than the other and thus the strings are out of tune with one another. The fretboards are also not particularly fast since they have to be somewhat wider than a typical 6-string fretboard. Finally, restringing 12 strings is just a pain in the ass! That said, I have 25-year old Yamaha 12-string that i bought back in high school that I love to pieces, so don't mind me.
November 19, 200817 yr Make sure you really want a 12-string. I know plenty of people who have bought one and now it just sits and never gets played. I have so much fun playing other people's 12 strings I need one of my own.
