Bonds

Creatine is not without its dangers. It can put a strain on the kidneys and liver. The "accomplishments" of McGwire, Sosa and Bonds are greatly suspect from my vantage point.

I am late to this discussion.

I heard Bonds say he is 37, and if he doesn't want to participate in a meaningless home run derby, then he doesn't have to.

I totally agree.

It is a gimmick, and it is for the young guys. Bonds participates in a home run derby in every game he plays in the regular season and that is all he needs to do.

As it was, some younger players got their names out there more than before. And that is good.

I don't have a problem with Bonds not wanting to be involved in the HR Derby. I think it would be better for baseball if he did, however.

The problem with Bonds is how he says things. He could say Happy Birthday to you and make it sound like he is saying f*** you. Just like the comments about Babe Ruth. Whether he meant it to come across cocky or funny doesn't matter, it could only come across one way.
