The "don't tax and spend, spend, spend" form of government started with Reagan. It empowered every person we sent to Washington to fund every dam program imaginable, and someone else will pay for it. From his union busting to his support for apartheid South Africa. He called the contras the "the moral equal of our Founding Fathers". There was some particularly ludicrous hyperbole in some other polls, and people calling Reagan a monster. I think this thread is an illustration of the silliness of that.
