April 13, 200917 yr http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/chi-1...0,1589155.story Sox fell from 9th to 15th...I guess that's a little bit harsh, but I think he did that before the results of all the Sunday games were in. Then again, maybe it is fair when you go only .500 at home against 2 divisional rivals, where you'd hope to go 4-2 in that stretch. The Indians took the biggest fall, all the way down to 28th...but you can't really imagine them staying there all season. Surely, they will have the patented Indians' statistical comeback when nothing is on the line and they're trying to chase down the leaders in July and August and look suddenly like the best team in baseball for 3-4 weeks. April 13, 200917 yr Come talk to me about Emilio Bonifacio in a few months. One week is way too small of a sample size to say anything about him possibly becoming a legit leadoff hitter.
April 13, 200917 yr QUOTE (jenks45monster @ Apr 13, 2009 -> 11:57 AM) Come talk to me about Emilio Bonifacio in a few months. One week is way too small of a sample size to say anything about him possibly becoming a legit leadoff hitter. everyone who knows anything about baseball recognizes him as a flash in the pan. yeah he's got talent, but he's going to be streaky as hell - nothing close to a reliable leadoff hitter all year.
April 13, 200917 yr Phil Rodgers is an idiot. How can you drop Cleveland THAT much after the first week?
April 13, 200917 yr QUOTE (Reddy @ Apr 13, 2009 -> 12:09 PM) everyone who knows anything about baseball recognizes him as a flash in the pan. yeah he's got talent, but he's going to be streaky as hell - nothing close to a reliable leadoff hitter all year. He's gonna be a decent fantasy player though. He plays 2B and 3B, two of the shallowest positions on the field and he hits leadoff and steals bases for you. You're going to get runs and steals out of him in a good position. As long as he hits .260-.270-ish he'll keep his job and will provide decently for you as a fantasy owner. As an actual baseball player, you're probably right.
