He did make 5 relief appearances for Charlotte and gave up runs in 3 of them. He wasn't too impressive there last year. The bottom line is if MacDougal showed any hope of turning it around, Egbert would be a minor leaguer right now. He most likely is in over his head, but it isn't his fault he is in that situation.

He was coming off of injury last year and had a good spring this year. If his FB is indeed down its not a great sign, but it's not like he had an Arnie Munoz like debut.....he walked Nick Markakis and gave up a home run to Aubrey Huff.
