Hershiser's Take on Jared Mitchell

Featured Replies

You can't get a much better writeup than that.

Yep, great to hear stuff like that from a neutral observer.

Its good to see positive reviews from people like Orel, but you do have to remember that he is not a professional scout, he's just a man who played in the game and has spent a lot of time around the game.

Do you guys think we could have had Mitchell with our second pick?

Mitchell has some nice power to the opposite field.

I was really impressed in the limited ab's I've seen. Great plate awareness which is why I'm less concerned about his strikeouts. Plus his swing doesn't look bad at all. Make a few minor changes but if he does things right I see us getting a hell of a ballplayer.

He would have been long gone by #38 (or whatever number the Phegley pick was).

I love the Phegley pick. Everything I've seen out of him tells me he's going to rake. Than we can have two legit catchers, one of which can ocassionally play 1B/DH. Keeps our guys fresh and gives us a heck of an offense.
