Exercise Help

Featured Replies

So Im having surgery on my left knee for a torn ACL on Wednesday, but I still want to be active or atleast not completely inactive. I know physical therapy will start very soon after surgery but Ive been so lazy since the injury (8 days ago).

What exercises do you guys think I can do with a stiff leg (from the swelling, and yes, that sounds like a boner), is it safe for me to still lift at the gym? Im fine walking, with a bit of a limp, but stairs are very slow and the leg obviously has very little flexibility so even getting in the position for sit-ups is too hard.

Any suggestions?

This was brought up recently...Richard Simmons chair exercises.

For an ACL tear, physical therapy is a GREAT start. Commit to it. You have to for that type of injury. You will probably work out hamstrings and quads awhile before doing side to side movements.
