You absolutely do not call up D2: the Mighty Danks right now. Especially to be a bench player.

That's why Cook is a better option. He has played all three OF positions, he's a guy you don't care if he's kept on the bench, probably no more than a bench guy in the majors anyway, and you don't disrupt Danks' progression.

Because Shelby/Danks/Mitchell aren't ready and Cook or Gartrell can't play CF.

Restovich and Kroeger are also corner OF's.

This is pretty much what I already said, except you are incorrect on Cook not being CF capable. Cook played 40 games there last year (no idea on this year, minorleaguesplits isn't updated yet) with decent ratings over that and years previous. Plus a couple posters on here who have watched him in B-Ham have reported he's solid at all three positions.

I am 99.999% sure he's not BA in CF, but it would be hard to be worse than Wise, and we are talking about a bench guy here.

I see no point in acquiring a 5th OF to put up a .680 OPS. We can get those for near-nothing from our own system.

So true.

Everyone would like to have a starter caliber bench player, but it just doesn't happen anymore. When there were 24 teams, guys like BA had a nice minor league career, possible a short stint or two. Now he received an extended chance. I'm just never much of a fan of giving anything up to strengthen the bench. It seems the delta is never that big, or the impact anything more than a tweak.

I'd rather not call up anyone to replace BA but if we did...Norris Hopper. He's fast, can play CF and has had some small success at this level before.

And has a much cooler name.
