For the money, caipirinhas at home are a bargain. A liter of decent cachaca (Pitu) costs me $17 and that's good for 25 drinks.

Hey, I have a few more years of practice. Traditional caipirinhas is cachaca (Brazilian cane spirit similar to a rhum agricole made from cane syrup and not molasses), lime juice, amd sugar or sugar syrup. Simple as that.
