Question for the historian in here

Featured Replies

Who holds the White Sox record for most HR in a season for SS and 2B positions only?

Who has the most career HR in those positions?

Thanks,

historians with S

I would think SS, it would have to be Jose Valentin.

For 2B, good question...Durham MIGHT be the answer. I don't think Iguchi would have it...

On second thought, it might be Alexei Ramirez from last year for 2B.

Uribe would be second for homers at SS I would also guess.

SS - Valentin in 2004 with 30hr.

2B - Ramirez in 2008 with 21hr

Alexei didn't play every game at 2B though. I'm not sure how that works. If not Durham with 20 would be next, I think.

SS= Jose Valentin with 136

2B= Ray Durham with 106

With at least 80% of games played at the respective position:

21 - Alexei Ramirez, 2008

20 - Ray Durham, 2001

19 - Ray Durham, 1998

18 - Tadahito Iguchi, 2006

17 - Ray Duhram, 2000

30 - Jose Valentin, 2004

28 - Jose Valentin, 2003

25 - Jose Valentin, 2000

21 - Juan Uribe, 2006

20 - Juan Uribe, 2007

20 - Ron Hansen, 1964

Wow 42 hr from Keystone Combo in 2000

And yet our most beloved combo of Aparicio & Fox hit hardly any
