Soxy, 'abandoning his duty'? Just what was he doing instead of being there? Was he in intense peace talks with the PLO and Israel? Was he hammering out the details of some new job-saving bill? Really, what was so important that he couldn't be there?

What was the rush for him to be on the scene right away? Aren't there investigators there securing the crime scene?

 

EDIT: And how did they know this wasn't part 1 of a multi-staged attack involving other soldiers? Wouldn't it be smarter to get all the facts straight and flush out what happened before immediately flying the President there? Was Bush at ground zero the next day?

FWIW, I thought his speech at Fort Hood was nice. At least the transcript I just read was.
