July 28, 200322 yr Author What is it? College savings program for little ones. You get a % of purchases on certain things deposited into a "savings account". My balance went up a LOT (considering the % are like 2% to 5%). Over $60 in one month. Just wondering if anyone elses did. I haven't had an opportunity to go over the statement.
July 29, 200322 yr Last time I checked, I had like 12 bucks "saved up"! ...guess I don't buy enough paper towels and soda!!!
July 29, 200322 yr Author Last time I checked, I had like 12 bucks "saved up"! ...guess I don't buy enough paper towels and soda!!! LOL. Gas at Mobil counts, too. And Jewel just added a lot more stuff to the list that gets you $ back. Also there are several resturants. Usually I get $30 a month.. For some reason it was $77 this month. The only thing I can figure is that they are finally crediting me for some past stuff. I tried to get on to print my statement but they are having issues. Most of the stuff I buy is @ 2%.. so that's a LOT of back credits if that's what it is.
July 29, 200322 yr Gas at Mobil counts, too. Yeah, but Mobil is ALWAYS 5 to 10 cents higher than Speedway, at least by me. Spend a dollar to make a dime just doesn't "add up" for me!! I haven't checked my statement in a while - I wonder if I'm up to 20 bucks in the bank yet? Hope my kid enjoys Community College!!!

But it goes for a good cause.. so I'm OK with it. And the fact that my dad uses Mobil gas for work (round trip to CT each week) and gets reimbursed so it's like money not spent and it adds about $20 alone each month. I just found out that ADT Security is part of it too. We got a $10 "bonus" for signing up and $2 each month. Also, there are a TON more items on the "savings list" then I thought. I hadn't registered my Jewel savings card before which gets you double credit when you use the American Express. And they have some "specials" going on as well (i.e.. 6% on certain items within a certain date). If you can coordinate your grocery shopping, it pays off. I strongly suggest anyone who has a child in their life to sign up. Even if you don't have a child personally, you can name one (neice, nephew) and change it later. Hell, ya gotta buy the stuff anyway. Might as well get something out of it. My aunt has been in it since the first started.
