Trade with the Marlins?

I don't know if this was posted yet, but it looks like the White Sox dealt Wes Whisler to the Marlins last night. Others are saying its Whisler and two other minor leaguers, but no details have been released.

Who do you think the White Sox could be targeting? Cantu? Sanchez? Ross? maybe Logan Morrison?

Its in the minor league page... We aren't targeting anyone you will have ever heard of, I am betting. Most likely it is a future considerations kind of thing.

Ozzie for Fredi? :D

Charlotte's pretty shorthanded as it is, this leaves them with three open roster spots. I doubt any other players are involved. He may have wanted to return to starting and they gave him the opportunity elsewhere.

Yeah, Whisler isn't netting us anything of value.

The three open roster spots at Charlotte should probably mean some shuffling about to occur in our system - promotions up the chain.

I would love Morrison but no way could we get him for Whisler.

That's what I'm expecting, although Charlotte could activate De Aza from the DL. Don't know who'd be moved up from B'ham though, I do know the Barons need some fresh blood from Winston-Salem. Not sure how long it will take for Nix to be able to play for Charlotte if he clears waivers.

We had heard a trade was going down with Whisler a day or so ago. It is just a minor move and has no impact on the major league squad.

I guess he did want to be a starter again?

De Aza was activated from the DL.

I know you were (at least half-) joking, but I would be all over this idea. It would benefit both sides. I wonder if the two teams would ever consider something like this in the off season.
