July 17, 201015 yr QUOTE (chw42 @ Jul 16, 2010 -> 07:01 PM) Also forgot one last bit. The most amount of bunts take effect in the first, seventh, eight, and ninth innings. The fact that 12% of all bunts appear in the first inning is disturbing. The 7,8,9 innings are where nearly 50% of bunts do occur. Yeah, unless the pitcher's up, it shouldn't ever happen in the 1st.
July 17, 201015 yr I really wanted to see the hit and run in the 8th with Pierre on 1st. Of course that is when Alexei grounded into the double play. I don't know why they didn't either run, or hit and run there. Ramirez has been hitting everything in sight.

You know I'm Mr. Hit-and-Run, but I think Liriano's move kept our hitters close to first all night. Also, don't forget Liriano had been wild to start the 8th, so that would have been a risky move.
