This is from a chat session on ESPN:

What's your take on the ChiSox resurgence? Can they keep it up?

Rob Neyer: Before the season, I thought the Sox were the best team in their division. And while they shook my confidence for most of the first half, I never did quite give up on them. They've got a fairly tough schedule down the stretch, but I still think they're going to win.

I love how all the writers are switching from "Kc is for real" to "The White Sox will win the division" after they saw this series.

KC can be real as can the Twins. Real and winner are different. The Yankees and BoSox are both "real" only one will win the division.

Yeah but it seemed like every writer in sports was jumping on the KC bandwagon.

There can be 2 "real" teams in a division, but only 1 of them can win. Case in point -- the AL East, as Texsox pointed out. Just because a person says "KC is for real, but I think the Sox will win the division", that is not a contradictory statement.

Detroit is for real. I stand by my statement. :bringit

Real? Real what? Real s***ty?

I bet every division winner in the last 20 years has been swept by another team. That's probably what KC is telling themselves. We have to play well in Seattle and finish them off next week in Chi.

Early in the season when the Royals were hot everyone said they would fall to earth.

When they did, writers slapped themselves on the back.

Then the Royals took first again, and suddenly it was 'oh no, they must be for real'.

I'll bet if we get in first place there will be tons of stories about how the Royals aren't for real.

I'm just happy people r starting to take notice...We didn't get any love in 2000...

Actually Neyer's been sticking with the Sox all season -- and he's a Royals fan.

Noone with a brain thought or thinks KC is or was for real. :bang
