I hope the sox erect a statue in his honor or honor him in some way. His 2005 season played an immense part in winning the season. Hell, honor that whole team for their contributions.

You're really scraping the bottom of the barrel of guys to honor if you put a statue of Jermaine Dye at the stadium. They should do something for the whole 2005 team, though.

Thank god that this guy is finally gonna go away.

Peace out, Jermaine.

I have always had a great deal of respect for Dye from the moment he signed with the Sox. He was the kind of guy that let his bat do the talking and you would never hear anyone talk negatively about him. He managed to have some of the most successful years in his career with the Sox and of course that World Series ring is proof of how a nice player is rewarded for being an all-around great person.

Buehrle, PK, maybe Ozzie if he wins another. Not sure else would deserve one at the moment. Obviously Beckham will down the road but that's too far out in to the future.

Obviously Beckham? Ummm .... No. There is nothing obvious about it. Maybe he just might have that kind of career, but the word obviously is way, way, way premature.

It was a joke. Didn't think I needed green.

IF he hadn't been so stubborn he probably could have squeezed another year or two out of it. I'll always be in his debt for 2005 and i'll never have any qualms with anything he did for this organization outside of b****ing about Alex Rios.

His good looks alone deserve a statue.

My apologies.

He was a fantastic player and is a better human being. Dye's just a great guy. Let us not forget that he took less money to come here because he made a handshake agreement. He's a rare breed in today's sporting world. Thanks JD!
