He doesn't belong in, and neither do quite a few others that have made it.

The HOF is becoming a watered down popularity contest, rather than what it was intended to be.

Was Santo a good 3B in his time? Yes. Was he one of the best of all time? No. He was not.

The HOF is really the Hall of The Very Good. There are a lot of players in there who probably shouldn't be. The Hall just isn't as exclusive as it originally was.

I think it's sad though that Santo didn't get in while he was alive, and I hated the guy as a player and a broadcaster. This, just as now it will probably be the case with Minnie, not getting in while he's still alive.

And that hardly qualifies him for the Hall Of Fame, which is something a lot of people in Chicago don't seem to comprehend.

He was also one of best at his position while he played, I thought everyone already understood that. I was also adding that for the next 30 years no one has surpassed that.

All of the Hall of Fame's need to have a separate room dedicated to the greats.

Example: NBA HoF. Rose is already in.

Can someone please make the case why Santo shouldn't be in the hall? I'm honestly dumbfounded by that sentiment. He was one of the greatest third basemen of his era.
