I have this strange feeling like it will be Ozzie Guillen. I'm going to give him 1 2/3rd's seasons in Miami.

As long as JR is still alive, it's always going to be a possibility.

But it will take a KW departure first for that to happen, obviously.

Didn't feel like including Joey Cora on the list...Black Jack McDowell also came to mind, but I don't see it as a fit.

Joel Skinner, maybe?

Where is Mark Buehrle?

I should have specified in a coaching/management/front office role...

Buehrle definitely will not be doing that. Although I certainly wouldn't rule him coming back to a contending Sox team in 3-4 years, especially if the Marlins are willing to subidize part of the salary cost.

I meant as a pitching coach.

Buehrle will come back in a trade the very instant the Marlins win the World Series.

Ozzie Guillen won't return as long as Kenny is here. This year, and 2013 will decide just how long that will be. After that, anything can happen, and I think before his time as a manager is up, we'll see him back here with the Sox.

With Buehrle, if he is still up for pitching after his Miami deal is up, it's easy to see him back on a 1 year deal to fill out the back end of the Sox rotation. It all depends on the game of chicken he plays with retirement.

Frank Thomas will be hitting coach sooner rather than later if Dunn/Rios/Beckham don't hit under the new guy. I get the feeling he has a short leash.

I guess that makes my answer "all of the above". No one is ever really dead to this organization, especially not guys like the above mentioned who have played a big part here and had success.

I would like to see Lance Johnson come back and play CF this year.
