America's Top 50 Cities

I lived in Memphis for about 3.5 years. Crime rate dwarfs that of Chicago, schools are awful, the neighborhoods are more segregated than any I've seen in any other American city, and the summers are horribly muggy.

I've heard that Memphis has more palpable racial tensions than anywhere else in the country. Never been there, but I want to visit just for the BBQ and music.

It is definitely a fun town for a weekend or two.

I think you should visit seattle. I feel like that's saying someone would never live in Chicago because they don't like deep dish or snow.

I have visited Seattle, and I didn't care for it, and I know plenty of people who would never live in Chicago because they hate snow.

Oh man...at first I didn't realize the list goes in descending order....I almost fell out of my chair when I saw Omaha...

This thing is ridiculous...I know LA has problems, but 50th? Whatever.

Where would you rather live, LA, Cleveland, or Omaha? GMAFB.

Reno, while in a beautiful setting, is a f***ing dump.

Placing Houston ahed of Chicago on any list other than s***tiest weather is absof***ing retarded.

I don't get how you put DC in the top 3...yes, a lot of historical and governmental things, but I don't think it would be in many people's top 3 place to live.

Yeah, go to Corky's and then to the bars...

But it is like living on the surface of the sun in the summer...and this is coming from the dude living in the middle of a desert...

I'm not sure I want to imagine living in Las Vegas or Phoenix. Granted, I've never really been anywhere that doesn't have humidity (ie, never been out west at all).

NYC #7 WOOT!

yeah, this town effing rocks.

I do love Denver though.

Granted I've only lived here a year now but the whole rain thing seems really overblown. There were so many days in the winter where it drizzled for a few hours in morning and the sun would come out for the rest of the day. Combine that with a large portion of plant life that stays green year round and the winter isn't all that bad. And this past summer was nicer than any I can recall in Chicago. But to each their own.

Man, I'm with you. I lived in Edmonds, just north of Seattle for 2 years and I absolutely love that area. My oldest son still lives downtown in Seattle and goes to school at the Art Institute. I hope to move back in a year or two. I really miss it a lot! Can't beat the weather, that's for sure.
