September 27, 201213 yr QUOTE (PlaySumFnJurny @ Sep 27, 2012 -> 04:10 PM) Opening ceremonies and action streaming live at: http://www.rydercup.com/live/pga/player.html I'm going tomorrow (Friday), anybody else going to make it? USA! USA! USA! I wanted to, but the $300 cost per ticket prevented that from happening. I actually went to the Solheim Cup (women's version) when it was here a few years ago. Due to the team aspect, it's totally way better than your average golf tournament. There's way more cheering and excitement because everyone has picked a side.
September 27, 201213 yr Author QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Sep 27, 2012 -> 04:16 PM) I wanted to, but the $300 cost per ticket prevented that from happening. I was lucky. Entered and won the PGA's lottery over a year ago, so I only paid $125/per.
September 27, 201213 yr ugh, this thread saddens me...I should be working security for this but my darn car blew up =(
September 28, 201213 yr QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Sep 28, 2012 -> 09:59 AM) McIlroy/McDowell vs. Furyk/Snedeker has to be one of the biggest mismatches. Got it to AS with 2 to play.
September 28, 201213 yr Mickelson/Bradley have finished off Donald/Garcia 4&3. USA 1 up and Europe 3 up in two of the matches and the other is all square. Edited September 28, 201213 yr by HickoryHuskers
September 28, 201213 yr QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Sep 28, 2012 -> 11:00 AM) Got it to AS with 2 to play. Just doing my part as an American by jinxing a European team.
September 28, 201213 yr This has been just a blast to watch on my second hd monitor at work. The crowd is electric.
September 28, 201213 yr QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Sep 28, 2012 -> 11:16 AM) Just doing my part as an American by jinxing a European team. So much for that. Tied up 1-1 now
September 28, 201213 yr Looks like it's going to end up 2-2, with all four matches won outright and none of them halved. I don't recall that happening very often, if ever.
September 28, 201213 yr Question about the alternate shot format: Does the alternating reset on every hole, where you can decide which player tees off, then you alternate shots? or Is it alternating every single shot, where if player A putts in, then player B HAS to tee off the next hole?
September 28, 201213 yr Taking these guys awhile to get used to the midwestern course in sept. Constantly bouncing over greens.
September 28, 201213 yr Question about the alternate shot format: Does the alternating reset on every hole, where you can decide which player tees off, then you alternate shots? or Is it alternating every single shot, where if player A putts in, then player B HAS to tee off the next hole? It resets on every hole. Player A tees off on all odd holes and Player B tees off on all even holes. Doesn't matter who made the last stroke on the previous hole.
September 28, 201213 yr QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Sep 28, 2012 -> 12:58 PM) It resets on every hole. Player A tees off on all odd holes and Player B tees off on all even holes. Doesn't matter who made the last stroke on the previous hole. WHich is why i dont understand why Tiger played off the tee at all.
September 28, 201213 yr WHich is why i dont understand why Tiger played off the tee at all. Every player has to tee off for half the holes, either odd or even.
September 28, 201213 yr QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Sep 28, 2012 -> 01:08 PM) Every player has to tee off for half the holes, either odd or even. Ah ok. I would keep the driver out of his hands if I could.
That makes sense, thanks.
September 28, 201213 yr Ah ok. I would keep the driver out of his hands if I could. There's one way to do that--not play him.
September 28, 201213 yr QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Sep 28, 2012 -> 01:21 PM) There's one way to do that--not play him. Yet they are playing him twice today. He can still hit his irons, but he loves that high cut with his driver and I f***ing hate it especially with the wind. He cant control the damn thing.
September 28, 201213 yr The Par 3s and Par 5s are both evenly split between odd and even, so there's no obvious strategy there. The only thing I see is that the two shortest Par 4s are both odd so maybe have your weaker driver take the odds since he'll probably use irons on those two.
September 28, 201213 yr Wow, Bubba. They must have early plans. They might be out of there after 11-12 holes.
