Highlights from the just completely conference call the Sox held with some Sox fan sites...

-It is official, the Sox will be wearing the 83 jersey's on Sunday's this year. They plan to hold autograph sessions on every Sunday this year, though they may not be full team sessions like in years past. They are going to try to have members from the 83 team there on all Sundays, though no plan for a full reunion. Autographs will be on the concourses this year, instead of on the field. Also highlighted that a family of 4 could go to a game and park for $30 on a Sunday.

-Season ticket sales are "hundreds of points" ahead of where they were at this time last year. Boyer did expect that to mean not as big of a single game sales today, but he felt that many people who would usually wait for today and buy a few games were going ahead and buying 7 or 14 game plans to get the seats they wanted, and the games they wanted ahead of time because of the new pricing structure. Season ticket renewal rates were "90%+" this off season. The rebalanced pricing to some extent after finding their high end tickets were on the cheap end of MLB, and their cheap seats were among the most expensive. Despite the increases in the diamond and platinum areas, their renewal rates were 99+%.

-Despite the Angels and Yankees leaving Stubhub, the Sox have no plans to do so. They do see them as a partner.

-The Sox will provide uni's to 4 entire youth baseball leagues. They leagues will all wear different versions of current and historical Sox jersies.

-There will be social media interactions at Soxfest, including tweet ups, and a new tumblr page is coming.

-The media campaign theme for 2013 has been finalized, but not made public yet. They did run it by the same consultants who did the end of year survey, and they though that it was very fitting with their findings.

-No new statues are in the works for the ballpark, and no system of requirements has been established for them.

-The team is taste testing 7-8 new concessions items as possibilities for 2013. They have not changed pricing, but they were concerned about the amount of complaints the year end survey had about food quality versus pricing, and they are pushing their vendors to fix that.

-They are attempting to get Buddy Bell for the next call from down in AZ.

If season tickets are renewing north of 90%, and 99%+ for the most expensive seats... and they are putting on many times over the number of new season ticket plans... it seems very likely the net season ticket base will be higher this year than last. That's a very good thing.

Stub hub thing is good for us season ticket holders who can't go do every game (who does?), and gives us an avenue to unload unused tickets.

Also psyched about the food. Seemed like it had gone downhill a bit in recent years, so its nice they are working on that.

Don't know what Boyer means by "hundred of points ahead" of last year, but when it comes to ticket sales unless they issue a press release stating season ticket sales are up X amount of percent I'll believe it when I see it.

We're all doomed..............

I'm not sure what you are saying here. Are you calling me a liar?

Come on Dick Allen. A friendly handshake to end the animosity.

There's no animosity. I just don't understand your never ending quest for the negative. I've bashed the Sox plenty. I am not one to say everything they do is perfect, but every little thing White Sox related, you have some negative comment. Why would Boyer BS a blogger conference call?

I just don't understand why my being negative bothers you.

What are the actual numbers? I will guess and say you have no idea, but you do know Boyer isn't being straight. I just don't see why he would have to spin anything considering the audience.

I don't know what he meant by being hundreds of points ahead of last year. How many tickets does that translate to?

You're the numbers guy. You said he was spinning. What does it mean? He did say the most expensive seats in the house were re-newed at 99%, and considering they went up in price, that is positive, with an overall renewal rate over 90%. Last year it was about 50%.

Ok, now we're getting somewhere. This is positive if it can be proven last year's renewal rate was 50%

No one outside some people within the Sox org can ever truly "prove" that, and you know it. They are under no obligation to publish those numbers in any official way, so all you have is their word. Last year they were saying numbers much lower than they are this year, so, were the lying then to? If by the same amount, this year still looks better.

We'll have to see how attendance goes.
