sox-r-us
The Sept 3rd game between the White vs Red Soxes has been moved from 7:05 to 6:05 pm to accomodate ESPN I am loving this (being a non-Chitown resident) When is the last time we got so much coverage? I do not remember getting this even in 2000..... If we keep getting coverage, keep getting more fans to the park and keep winning and hopefully go deep in the playoffs, I can see Jerry opening his purse to keep the momentum going
YASNY
I love the fact that we are getting another game on national TV, but we'll just have to see about JR opening up the purse strings.
DBAHO
Is the Sept. 3rd game a Monday or Wednesday Night Game cos if it is then I can watch it on ESPN down here in Australia since we only get 2 live games a week, other than SportsCenter which hardly shows da White Sox anyways. :fthecubs

CubKilla
I love the fact that we are getting another game on national TV, but we'll just have to see about JR opening up the purse strings. There must be alot of naive Sox fans around here. JR is so goddamn cheap, no attendance mark or monies earned is going to guarantee that JR is going to spend jack s*** on improving the team. Back when Comiskey II was brand new and the Park was sold out almost every night, the Sox were a better team record-wise than they are now. JR didn't open the wallet then to better the team. He took the cheap route in '93 and '00 with acquisitions that were supposed to "help" the team. While I can't bad mouth acquiring C Johnson for the '00 playoff run, Tim Belcher definitely was a money-based acquisition that sucked after donning the Sox pinstripes..... and the attendance in '93 surpassed the attendance in '00. And we didn't need a catcher in '00..... we needed pitching but pitching cost $$$$$! There is nothing that says JR will open the wallet now. At the very least, it's just more money for JR to count and roll around in naked with Eddie Einhorn while sipping champagne and smoking Cuban cigars. Dude, do you even REALIZE what a horrifying mental picture you just painted??? And is it true that Ribbie and Roobarb were created in JR and EE's images??
