MLB ASG: Pay Tribute to the Heroes

Featured Replies

MLB is holding a vote to honor some heroes at the All-Star Game this year. The idea itself is a really cool idea to let these people have some time in the spotlight after all the self-sacrifice they've put in to ensuring safety for those in both immediate danger and in our country too.

However, a lady I work with has a nephew who is eligible to be one of these heroes. Nick Kimmel, nominated by the San Diego Padres, is a triple amputee after stepping on an IED in Afghanistan. He really is an incredible story of human spirit and perseverence. If you watched the World Series, you may have seen him throw out a first pitch.

If you could vote for him, I'd greatly appreciate it, and I know how Soxtalk likes to vote in droves.

But if you know someone or you want to vote for White Sox guys, I don't mind.

Happy to vote for him - and done.

Done......................Wish they all could win............All are heroes to me.

I remember watching that first pitch last year during the WS and balling. The sacrifices our servicemen and women make are just unbelievably selfless.

God Bless them all.

Voted.

Exactly, they are all deserving.

I put a vote in for him.
