So what's going to happen first--Peavy trade or Troncoso or Purcey sent down?

Something has to give this afternoon.

Rios trade.

The funny thing is he admits the Cubs basically did the exact same thing with Garza, and yet somehow this somehow shows the White Sox are a rudderless ship, whereas for the Cubs, it's "strategy/gamesmanship/brilliant negotiating."

Many Sox fans think the same things...

Makes sense. Trade deadline is at 3, game is at 6 so if a trade happens, Axelrod can pitch. If not, Peavy will start.

Am I missing something? I expected much more speculation in this thread. Do we know why he's not pitching?

Because he might get traded at any point in the next 25 hours

Scott Ruffcorn? Mike Bertotti?

Why does that matter if there is a chance he might not get traded? Is that our doing or the potential suitor?

It could be both. One or more suitors could have asked for it to play for time, or the White Sox could have realized they had acceptable deals on the table and were holding out for the best one.

If he pitches, the buyer will likely get once less start out of him. This his value will be lower.

We certainly get no real value out of Peavy pitching.
