April 4, 201412 yr http://nowiknow.com/take-me-out-to-the-mayhem/ This is today's offering from a regular email list I am on and usually filled with some very interesting items from around the world. Rarely do I know much about the event, person, item, etc. I was a huge Steve Dahl fan, I wanted to go to the game but it was sold out when I decided to buy tickets, something that had never happened to me before in all my years as a Sox fan. This is a rarity in that the Veecks seem to share some of the responsibility. Usually uit is the Stever who takes the hit.

My younger brother ran on the field. My dad and I did not. Yes I hated disco much like how I hate rap. Rock n' Roll will never die even if it is on life support. April 4, 201412 yr I was there because I loved twilight double headers, couldn't care less about the Dahl thing. Old Comiskey had these arched "windows" in left and right. Not real windows, just openings. People were climbing in, not an easy thing to do. It was a madhouse. This is a true story. I was sitting behind 4 nuns. The crowd was chanting "Disco sucks" over and over. One of the nuns turns around and asks me what are they chanting. Back then you didn't say sucks to a nun. So I scrambled for an answer and said they're saying "Let's go Sox." Brilliant, right? Not so much. The nuns start clapping along, saying let's go Sox, and from 10 feet away everyone around thought the nuns were chanting Disco Sucks too.
April 4, 201412 yr This is a "that's what you got out of this moment" but the best part about the entire article is the link to the Star Wars theme song video. I forgot about that. I have no idea what a Cowboy doing tricks with a rope and lariat has to do with Star Wars but it is hysterical.
