The HR by Andy Wilkins today was the 133rd of 2014 for @KnightsBaseball. That's the most in all of @MiLB & @MLB. #chicksdigthelongball

and Wilkins isn't on anybody's top prospect list......

He's not chopped liver either. He's worth a look if a spot becomes available, if nothing else.

He's always been a guy whose ceiling was a solid major leaguer. Of course, guys with that kind of ceiling aren't usually very popular, especially at first base. He's had to produce at every level to get any recognition, and so far he has done that.

Until his recent hot streak, he really hadn't produced anything of note in AAA.

 

I feel like we may need to start taking into account this new stadium in Charlotte when evaluating some of the offensive numbers guys are putting up there. Sanchez has 5 home runs which is more than his entire milb career prior. wilkins leading the IL in hrs etc. It is obvious and it has been written about that the new stadium is a great place to hit a home run.

 

Unfortunately this takes away from the one positive about davidsons season (his good power showing).

 

 

Also, maybe the pitching at charlotte isn't that bad.

So basically Danks, Phegley and Saladino are helped a lot by the bandbox. Wilkins and Sanchez are better on the road. Davidson and Tekotte are roughly the same. All are small sample sizes so take this with a grain of salt.

Yeah, ballpark factor is at play but you can't over-assign it's value. Most of those players don't look like guys taking specific advantage. On a team level you can look at park factor, but even a serious homer-happy park may only add a couple home runs to a typical power hitter. It isn't doubling numbers or anything.
