Clark County Sheriff Danny Rodden has been indicted by a federal grand jury in New Albany on charges of counseling the destruction of evidence in a federal investigation and seven counts of making false statements following a 2013 encounter at a Louisville hotel where Rodden allegedly paid a prostitute $300 for oral sex.

The indictment, which was unsealed Tuesday, alleges that Rodden provided the unnamed prostitute "with law enforcement credentials and an official deputy's badge of the Clark County Sheriff's Department" so the prostitute could obtain a government employee's rate at hotels.

On or about May 29, 2013, Rodden allegedly met the prostitute in a room at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Louisville, where he provided the prostitute a uniform shirt and other clothing bearing the insignia of the sheriff's department, according to the indictment.

The FBI was conducting an investigation of wire fraud and enticing an individual to travel in interstate commerce to engage in prostitution. As part of the investigation, FBI special agents and task force members interviewed Rodden May 27, May 29 and June 5.

Rodden is nearing the end of the state's two-term limit, meaning he could not seek re-election to the same office this year.

For the record, I didn't vote for him.

So, you're an educator, and you've now done this google search?

Please wipe your computer's history now.
