Let me just state on the record that I feel this deal only makes sense for the Giants if they don't get Konerko.

 

They seem to be dumping salary so getting PK, who has just signed a long term deal, would be funny.

 

Lee would make some sense if they want him to move to 1st, but I Think strictly prospects makes the most sense from the Giants point of view.

I will just say that if the deal has Konerko that I will no longer support the White Sox because there is no reason to make this trade whatsoever.

pk's money is alot less than that of kent et el who they are trying to dump now.. so it makes perfect sense if your sf....moving lee to 1st is a joke.. he cant even catch a ball in lf hes supposed to get one at 1st??? lmao......

Well, Kent was looking to sign cheaply. Its too bad the Sox wouldn't pull this deal, then go out and sign Jeff Kent to play first to a 3 yr 15 mill contract.

 

He seems to be willing to take a lot less now, and he'd be a steal at that rate.

I know this, Kent is a better player then Konerko. Attitude wise, Konerko wins, but just production, you got to go with Kent, and if moving Konerko gets you a pitcher of Ortiz's caliber and then Ainsworth, then I'd pull that deal in a heart-beat.

 

Of course we won't get Kent, but just saying if the Sox really wanted to do something, they'd do it.

Kent at 5 mil a year? I dont think he's gonna go that low...

The Giants want to move Ortiz to clear some salary and they feel that Ainsworth can fill in for Ortiz nicely. They won't give up Ainsworth and Ortiz.

They were going to for JD Drew but the Cards decided not to give up on J.D. Konerko isn't quite Drew, but he's more proven and still fills a need for them at first.

When you look at the trade, you really have to rethink teh whole Konerko or Lee part.

 

Look, C Lee really improved his OBP, and K/BB ratio last year, but onerko also had a monster first half, and a s*** second half. Koenrko had 3 seasons with 97+ RBI, C Lee not even close.

 

But, do we give up on C Lee right now? This is a lose-lose situation for KW.

I'd rather give up a good prospect and Lee opposed to dealing PK. PK is our leader in the clubhouse and was an all-star last season. Trading him doesn't make sense AT ALL.

To me KW can really fill in a free agent for Konerko if needed. Their are many productive first baseman out their.

i dont trust kw to fill in the cream filling of a twinkie right about now.....hes making me nuts..........

We have two, possible three on the team right now as we speak, excluding Paully.

If you want Frank the skank to play the field, be my guest. I won't be at commiskey to see it though. If Ichiro hits a grounder, we'll be s*** out of luck.

Frank could be their, but man he sucks defensively to be our full time first baseman.

 

Ya, Lief could be their too, but I don't want to lose PK's production and replace it with Liefer.

Well, Frank would move to first most of the time.

 

Would the sox pick up an extra outfielder moving Lee/Thomas to first and Dh. Would they pick up someone to play first, keeping Lee in the outfield, with Thomas Dh'ing or will they just stick Liefer at 1st and then eventually go with Borchard in the outfield moving Lee to 1st/dh.
