I think if we traded him in an Ortiz deal, it would be a good deal. He just came off a career year, in which he really tailed off in the end of the season. This means we could get alot for him. It would also be good because as we know, thomas wants to play some first. I think if Frank is happy and is motivated and in good shape like he says he is, he will have his best season since 99.

 

I think we would miss more of Konerko's leadership than his offensive production. Just my humble opinion...

well i guess i could handle trading PK or more favorably, CLee. But isnt it quite a blow to our white sox to trade both away..? I mean Lee's name has come up in just about every trade talk so far this offseason.

I think if we move PK, we are doing one thing right and thats trading a guy while his value is at a peak.

 

The question is are we dealing Konerko or Lee. If we are move either of them and still get Ainsworth and Ortiz, then I will be extremely excited.

I'm with you, if we get Ainsworth and Ortiz our rotation looks pretty good, maybe good enough to beat the Twins.

Yep, we'd have Ainsworth and Rauch as the backup plans in case Ritchie fails, then again maybe the Sox just pass on Ritchie and then if they get Ainsworth and Ortiz they then do the so called Colon deal?

 

Just throwing it out their. It would be very un-Sox like, but it seems like the players we are giving up, aren't the ones the Expos were looking for.

It blows me away to see so many people possibly supporting Konerko being traded.

I'm not saying I support it, but I see some sense to it.

 

I only will support it if the deal makes sense and you can't know that until it is finalized.

lee is one of kw's yes men... i honestly do not think hes going anywhere while kw is around... im sure his name only comes up as a pr stunt, because kw knows how much we think so highly of lee and would love to see him gone..lol.. thus keeping the fans interest if he mentions his name in each and every trade..if someone actually did take kw up on lee im sure he would find a way to wiggle out of it fast..........jmho

pitching is what wins you games, any trade that improves your staff, you have to do.

I tend to agree with you. I am big on pitching. I like offense too, but right now, I just try to sit back and take things for what they are worth.

yeah he said it on espn tv .. i havent seen anyting in his column though on the web site as of yet........

I'm sure we can get Ortiz for much less than Konerko.

Its been reported on the TV, as well as on the radio or at least I heard it on the radio.

 

They were talking about the Giants moving Ortiz to the Sox and said some sources are saying its for prospects, others saying its for Konerko or Lee. I think the sides are very close, and are just figuring out which way each team wants to go.
