I'm a huge Eddie Alvarez fan. I know he's old for a prospect, but check out his stats his first 162 pro games:

ABs R H 2b 3b hr bi w k sb-a ave oba slg ops

605 118 188 39 7 10 78 113 115 60-84 .311 .419 .448 .867

Not bad for a guy who hadn't played any kind of ball in years prior to last summer. I don't expect Alvarez to maintain that power as he moves up the system, but how nice would a speed/on base combo like his look at the top of the Sox lineup? Especially with Eaton finding a power stroke, a lineup starting with Alvarez/Eaton/Abreu could be the best 1-2-3 we've had in some while.

The Kanny roster this year had been largely uninspiring, but I think that's going to change next year. As it looks like now, Zangari, Zavala, Adolfo, Cruz, Rodriguez and Lassiter on the hitting side, and Solorzano, Comito, Stephens and Erwin on the pitching side should be on that team.

Leonards went to the Barons, jumped a level. Must be temporary.

Alex Katz (27th round pick) last 3 appearances. 5 IP 0 H 0 R 0 BB 8 SO. Only 20 years old. Sox are taking it slow with him. If he's legit in Kanny next year, he might be a guy to keep an eye on in the pen. Great slider and his fastball touches 95.

While I agree that KAN should be a fun team to watch next year, I really, really doubt Adolfo opens the season there. More likely he's in GTF, probably for the full year but maybe comes up later.

Recap posted

Haha, Kanny ended Savannah's huge winning streak with a tie. The recap also has a quick look at the current playoff status for all the affiliates, so take a look at that.
