Jim McAnany passes

Featured Replies

Thanks for sharing. He got decent playing time for the pennant winning team, and recall seeing him at the reunion in 2009.

RIP

There is almost nobody left that played with the 1959 championship team. Jim Landis is in very poor health. Jim Rivera & Luis Aparicio are still around. So are a couple of backups - Sammy Esposito & John Romano. That's abut it.

Pitcher Barry Latman still around.

McAnany came up in 1959 and sort of platooned with Jim Rivera in RF. I remember he hit over .400 in minors - probably 1958.
