March 10, 201610 yr Author It's an interesting conference. Looking at the history I realize that some conferences are actually independent from their teams in a way. UT-RGV has formed an exploratory committee headed up by Mack Brown (former UT head coach) to see if football will be a fit. That would cause the university to leave the WAC.
