Premature swingulation..

I liked the at bat Konerko got late in the game off Hawkins. I think he battled him for 9-10 pitches but then grounded out of course.

Better than 1st pitch swinging and popping up.

Ordonez has taken this approach many times in his career.

Remember, Ordonez goes up to plate sitting on certain pitches and locations. if he gets it first pitch, he'll go for it. many times this year he's swong at the first pitch and hit it hard somewhere, just doesn't work all the time.

you have a point though, at times, especially after a double-play, he should be more patient and work the count.

Patience at the place? This guy is the best hitter on the team and a serious contender for the batting title. You should save some of that venom for those who deserve it.

Agreed. Ever since that commercial where the chick says that thing about Maggs hitting behind the runner with less than two out he has been doing exactly the opposite. He has been popping up always it seems like weak fly balls to left center field. He needs to get his head in the game and start hitting those line drives to CF.

Wasnt that the girl who looked like the slurred speech, Cub lovin idiot Joan Cusack. They only ran the commercial during games and on the radio.

Thankfully they've also stopped running the promo where the three generations of Sox fans are talking about their favorite moments and the little girl goes "OO EE OO....Maggliio." Extremely annoying, its how maggs must feel every home game.

Maggs needs one of those 12 games streaks to finish the season like that streak he had right after the all-star break
