May 24, 20169 yr This guy.... he is talking about Abreu. “I wouldn’t use the word ‘struggling,’ ’’ hitting coach Todd Steverson said Monday. “For his standards, yeah. He’s found a way to maintain a decent average but he knows he’s getting himself out more than he should be. It hasn’t been about the pitchers, it’s been about him and being able to stick to a plan. He’s well aware of the things he’s been doing. It’s easy to see it.’’ Did this guy really say .237 is a decent average? No wonder we can't hit - the bar is high
May 24, 20169 yr Steverson had a lifetime batting average of .256 at the MLB level so .237 really isn't that bad in his perspective. Of course, he only had 43 at-bats.
May 24, 20169 yr Author I don't blame him much for the offensive futility over the past few years... but how this guy has managed to keep his job is remarkable.
May 24, 20169 yr 177th out of 182 full-time players in terms of fWAR. He's at negative 0.6 on the season, easily the worst on the team.
