You have to admire these swings by the Twins with 2 strikes. I love the high fastball call when it's a DP situation. Keep up the amazing pitch calling catchers.

With Pods not running anymore, its been pointless to have him out there. Gloads would be such a signficant upgrade over him.

 

But bottom line, I want a new manager. I'm sick of tired of our motherf***ing manager putting this motherf***ing players in a position where they can't succeed (sorry about the cursing, but I love snakes on a plane).

 

I've had it with him putting guys in a position that they can't succeed. Thats not what a good manager does, good managers do everything they can to always put there players in the best situations for them to succeed (and as a result the team succeeds).

 

Ozzie's trashed Garland and Tracey verbally, called Bmac a piece of s*** (well pretty much stating that he isn't anything compared to what we have), he's made stupid jag comments in the media (from the Mariotti incident to all the stuff about stealing signs) and he's been a terrible manager (in terms of a baseball standpoint) yet the entire media still hoots and hollars and raves about how great he is. It really is a joke that no one in the baseball media has the guts to step up and call things like it really is (its too bad that the only one who might do it is Mariotti, but even if he were to write a spot on article, it wouldn't float over well just because of who he is).

I disagree with his use of the Sunday lineup sometimes but my gawd you are

a smart baseball person. I don't understand your infatuation with Ozzie

being a s*** manager.

Ozzie knows the game of baseball fathom; you act like he is about as smart

as Terry Bevington.

 

Ozzie had just as much say in the roster as KW did. And yes, I think he's a bad manager who continues to violate my #1 rule.

 

The pitching isn't just not carrying the team anymore. It has been terrible. The offense has done a great job as evidenced by having a legit shot at the playoffs going into September.

Look at it this way: In game 1 of this series, T. Hunter, who's on quite the power streak, took until he had a 3-2 pitch when leading off the 9th inning. He eventually got a single. In the bottom of the 10th, Gload, who's not a power hitter, swung basically straight up on a 3-1 pitch well inside when leading off the inning. That's all you have to know about the difference in these teams right now.

No, he can't pitch for Contreras. However, he can stop putting Mackowiak out in CF, who has probably added .25 to every starters ERA this season. If Anderson is in CF, Contreras might have gotten away with some of those early mistakes.

I can't believe Ozzie is getting so much blame on this board this year.

He's as good or better than any manager in the game.

 

There are two managers in our own division who are leaps and bounds better than him. I can't believe Ozzie isn't getting more blame in the media for the continued failure of certain aspects of the Sox this season.

That's the difference between wanting to win and playing to win. The Sox want to win, but they don't want to put in the full effort to win. They blame umpires and whatever else to justify losing it seems. Meanwhile there are the Twins, hustling out every play and forcing the game instead of waiting for the game to come to them.

 

Before our series last weekend at the Dome, I knew we were in trouble once I heard that Hunter told the media that he was nervous that the Twins would be too "amped" up for the game. Meanwhile, Buehrle and PK continue to go with the "just another game" approach.

And another thing, I hate Tori Hunter more than any other player in baseball. I'd like to see Buehrle hit him in the mouth tommorrow.

 

I have so much admiration for the heart and hustle Hunter is playing with right now. You can tell he's nowhere near 100 pct out there, but he's the most intense guy on the field and in the dugout.

IT WAS! Last night Jenks should have replaced McDougal with a runner on second and 2 out in the top of the 9th. Tonight the right handed McDougal should have gone in for Thorton with 2 outs and the runner on third.

Terrible handling of the pitching staff in key moments. HOW COULD HE NOT HAVE GONE RIGHTY TO RIGHTY TONIGHT IN THE 11th!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm not saying BMAC will be in the rotation, I just think there will be even more pressure. Ozzie is known for not listening to anything that sounds rational. The other thing is that McCarthy was just up to the bigs last year so not using him in the playoffs wasn't totally irational. Now, McCarthy has experience and could easily contribute.

 

Who's he going to replace McCarthy with in the rotation? Not even I can think of a logical choice.
